This page is about the Paperhint website. It is written to be read, not to protect us. If anything here is unclear, write to support@paperhint.com and we will fix the wording.
Student data is not on this page. Nothing a school teaches, marks or records goes through this website. A school's own data lives in the school's Paperhint account, under an agreement with that school, and is never used to train anything.
What we collect here
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You fill in the contact form | Your name, email, school, role, and whatever you wrote | To reply to you. Nothing else. |
| You ask the chat panel something | Your question, our answer, the page you were on | To answer, and to learn which questions schools actually have |
| Any visit | Your city and country, and your address shortened to its network | To know which parts of the country are looking |
| Something breaks | The error, the page, and the browser version | To fix it. No personal details are attached. |
| You accept measurement | Which pages you opened and what you clicked | To see which parts of the site are working |
Your address is shortened before it is stored
We keep the network, not the address: the last part of an IPv4 address is dropped, and all but the first half of an IPv6 one. It is enough to tell two schools apart. It is not enough to be a street.
Cookies, and the choice you were given
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no ad networks. Measurement is off until you accept it, and your answer is kept in your own browser's storage rather than in a cookie. You can change it at any time:
Who else sees it
- Vercel serves this site and runs its functions.
- Resend delivers the emails we send you.
- OpenAI and Google answer chat questions. Your question is sent to answer it; a school's own data is never sent.
- PostHog measures site usage, only once you have accepted.
Nobody buys this data from us, because we do not sell it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay while we are still talking to you and for a year after. Chat questions are kept as a rolling window of the most recent few hundred and then fall off on their own. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Asking us to remove it
Write to support@paperhint.com from the address you used, and say what you want removed. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We will do it within 30 days and tell you when it is done. No form, no ticket number.
Where we are
Paperhint is built in Chennai, India. If you are in the EU or UK and think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your local data protection authority — but write to us first, because we would rather just fix it.
